Inspired by real events.The Western Front, 1918.Nurses Christy, Maggie, and Bab have crossed the ocean from Canada to care for wounded soldiers in the First World War.Despite the terrible injuries they must deal with, they manage to stay hopeful as the dangers of war draw closer to their hospital.Through it all, the three women find friendship, independence, power, and influence in a place where men, once again, are trying to destroy the world? Bluebirds?premiered in 2022, selling out multiple venues on tour, and returned in 2024 for what?The Globe and Mail?called ?a victory lap? around the region, touring to theatres across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It now receives its European premiere in Theatre New Brunswick?s very first visit overseas, hosted by the multi-award-winning?Finborough Theatre?which is well known for its championing of Canadian playwrights ? and produces more Canadian work than any other theatre in Europe.?
