Folklore Presents... Kat Pereira

Kat Pereira is a Montreal-based artist crafting luminous, maximalist alternative electro-pop. A multi-instrumentalist and synesthete, she has also worked as a keyboardist, guitarist, bassist, flutist and backing vocalist alongside artists such as Alfa Rococo, Eli Rose, Laura Niquay, Lara Klaus and Laraw. With her own project, she has performed on stages including Quebec?s F?te nationale in Laval, Les Francos de Montr?al, Festival d??t? de Qu?bec, M for Montreal, Coup de c?ur francophone, Ottawa Bluesfest and Departure in Toronto. In fall 2026, she will also cross the Atlantic to bring her project to European audiences. She first gained wider recognition as a finalist at Les Francouvertes, one of Montreal?s leading showcases for emerging francophone artists. Drawing inspiration from queens like Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kaiyote and Saya Gray, Kat Pereira blends bold, socially engaged poetry with infectious melodies, exploring themes that are both deeply personal and universal: colonialism, feminism and the search for identity.
