Baby Dave is the alter ego of SOFT PLAY?s Isaac Holman - a solo project that allows him the freedom to purge his emotions through music and push his creativity in any direction that his instinct desires. Now Baby Dave?s chameleonic adventures go more unpredictable than ever with his new album ?Billy? which will be released on May 1st. He launches the album alongside the new single ?am i clean????. Isaac Holman began the Baby Dave project during a troubled spell in his life. SOFT PLAY were on hiatus, lockdown was enforced, and he had moved back to live with his parents while working as a gardener. He needed a creative outlet and Baby Dave provided the therapy to help him get through it. The project took on a life of its own with the 2022 debut album ?Monkey Brain? (featuring multiple tracks produced by Damon Albarn) and 2023?s ?Different Gravy? which featured Kate Nash on the single ?Telephobia?. Isaac subsequently reunited with Laurie Vincent as SOFT PLAY made a life-affirming return with 2024?s ?HEAVY JELLY?. A set of hard music for soft people, the critically acclaimed album achieved their highest chart position so far at #3. Live shows included gigs with everyone from Kneecap to Robbie Williams as well as big festival dates such as Glastonbury, Coachella, and Download.
