Cavalera (Sepultura)
In 1983 there came a sound from the depths of the Brazilian rainforest that was primal, ground-breaking, and completely ahead of its time. The roaring of amplifiers and the beating of drums was the sound of Belo Horizonte brothers Max and Iggor Cavalera, whom, inspired by seeing Queen live in 1981, dropped out of school and founded the heavy metal band Sepultura.
After selling over 20 million records worldwide, Max quit the band in 1996 and formed Soulfly. After a decade-long feud with his brother, Iggor also quit the band in 2006 and the two reunited a year later to form Cavalera Conspiracy (now shortened to simply Cavalera).
After many years, the Cavalera brothers return to their raw upstarts re-recording their beloved yet obscure early Sepultura releases, Bestial Devastation (1985) and Morbid Visions (1986).
