Dea Matrona
Beflast rock band Dea Matrona, led by Orláith Forsythe and Mollie McGinn, formed after competing against each other in the Scór na nÓg singing competitions taking their name from Celtic mythology meaning 'Divine Mother Goddess'.
They started busking in Belfast, and went viral for their classic rock covers of songs by The Chicks, Cream, Fleetwood Mac, Chuck Berry, Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Carly Simon, Led Zeppelin, Carole King, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan among many more.
They were invited onto the Late Late Show and soon after topped the UK and Irish rock charts with their single "Make You My Star" earning them support slots for The Corrs at The Royal Albert Hall and artists such as Sting, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain, Bryan Adams and The Darkness on European tours.
