Saturday night at Jamboree with the fantastic Doomsday Dance Band playing interplanetary funk-rock-dance music here on earth. Expect a thrilling multi-media, multi-sensory show! Tonight the band launch their new EP! THE DOOMSDAY DANCE BAND comprise three local boys from the Alpha Centauri system and a human bassist called Dave. Some years ago, they came across NASA's Voyager probe, just as it was inching into Interstellar Space.? Thrilled by the sounds on the Golden Record attached to the side, DDB became instant fans of "Earth Music" and developed their own human-inspired funk-rock stylings.? After a decade of space travel, DDB finally made it to our planet - only to discover that it was in a bit of a bad way.? So they have come to remind us of the beauty of your planet and its cultural heritage: let the Earth Music ring out and let the people dance to it - while there's still time! While on Earth, DDB's members have done their best to integrate with human cultural activities, forging reputations as directors of TV soap operas, composers of off-Broadway musicals and creators of large-scale community song-cycles.?
