Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers)
When future historians of music draw up a list of the movers and shakers who changed the modern musical landscape, there will be no doubt that North London-born Hugh Cornwell, the former leader and main songwriter of all The Stranglers' most memorable songs, will be prominent amongst them. In this show he performs a concert made up of two sets:
Set 1 is his prime solo songs with picks from the new album Moments of Madness - his highest charting yet, and an album of acute, pithy, and witty observations and social commentary across ten singular songs, that confirms Hugh as the poet laureate of the punk era and beyond.
Set 2 he plays Stranglers classics - such as Golden Brown, No More Heroes, and Peaches - including a few never performed before live.
