A very special Saturday night at Jamboree with Congolese-British artist Liz Ikamba, bringing her distinctive Congo alt-pop and Afro-soul, blending traditional influences with global diasporic sounds including jazz, dub-reggae and neo-soul! This show is part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. Creating music driven by polyrhythm, deep basslines and powerful soul vocals, and described as ?Erykah Badu, Sade and Nina Simone with a Congolese twist?, Liz seamlessly blends musical styles with intimate songwriting, a contemporary diasporic perspective, and the rhythmic, melodic traditions of Central Africa. Her work explores themes of storytelling, identity, heritage and belonging, with a warm tone, global awareness and lyrical depth. Liz sings in both English and Lingala, and her immersive and participatory performances invite audiences into a shared experience of rhythm, movement and connection.
