Metallica
San Francisco metal legends Metallica were formed in 1981 and are the most successful of the founding "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer.
Their line-up of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo have filled stadiums the world over, and famously opened the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium in 1992.
