Morton Valence

Based around the vocal paring of Robert 'Hacker' Jessett and Irish chanteuse Anne Gilpin, Morton Valence are veterans of 5 critically acclaimed studio albums. They take the classic duet, old-school ballad and avant-folk country song, feed them through their own unique filter, creating a sound and song-writing style that is very much their own. Loaded with life-affirming harmony and candid narratives, they have been captivating music lovers and pretty much anyone who happens to stumble into their orbit for some time now. Think of Nancy & Lee drifting down the River Thames on a dreamboat to the promised land, and you'll be getting close. Jessett is a prolific songwriter and has played with a variety of bands, including Alabama 3 and Band of Holy Joy. Their current line-up includes pedal steel guitar legend BJ Cole who plays intermittently with the band both live and in the studio, Shane Gilliver on bass and drummer Matt Donavan.
