Rafaela Carrasco - Creaviva
A combination of contemporary and tradition, feel the creative force of Flamenco
Unearth the hidden side of creation ? that quiet, personal space where ideas are born. CREAVIVA explores what it feels like to create: the loneliness, the waiting, the sudden spark of inspiration, and the unpredictable journey from first thought to finished work.
Through dance, live music, and poetry, six artists bring to life nine ancient Greek muses each with their own link to the act of creation: learn (Urania), narrate-listen (Calliope), love-seduce (Erato), pray (Polyhymnia), dance (Terpsichore), play (pure music, Euterpe), remember-tell (Clio), laugh-cry (emotions, Melpomene and Thalia). These symbols of creativity and the arts are given a new voice through flamenco and folk traditions.
By renowned flamenco dancer and choreographer Rafaela Carrasco, known for her approach that is contemporary yet still honours tradition, the piece is co-directed by Antonio Ruz, with texts by ?lvaro Tato and music by acclaimed composers. An ode to inspiring feminininity, CREAVIVA blends past and present in a powerful reflection on what it means to be an artist today.
