The Spitfires
Watford band The Spitfires are known for their high-energy performances, sharp melodies, and dynamic sound which mixes elements of punk, reggae, soul, and ska music, with their style influenced by the mod and punk subcultures, similar to bands like The Clash and The Specials long before them.
Originally formed in 2012, the group quickly gained a reputation for their distinctive style, combining punchy guitar riffs, infectious rhythms, and socially conscious lyrics.
After a decade of working together, the original line-up announced they were to split up in 2022, bowing out at their final performance at a sold out Electric Ballroom, London.
But the band’s story is far from over.
In 2025, The Spitfires reformed with an exciting new line-up led by original frontman Billy Sullivan. With a renewed sense of purpose and a bold new direction, the band is poised to make their return with a sound that promises to be just as powerful and relevant as ever.
