Ballet Central
Ballet Central is formed of final year students at Central School of Ballet, giving graduating students the opportunity of professional performing experience.
This Season, they present a brand-new programme of classical ballet and contemporary dance.
Opening the programme will be Royal Ballet Founder Choreographer Frederick Ashton’s Foyer de Danse, a majestic ballet that brings Edgar Degas paintings to life, recreated by the Frederick Ashton Foundation.
Next, Ballet Central will perform a new work, created especially for the company by Dickson Mbi. The vastly energetic new creation takes influence from the London choreographer’s success as a hip-hop dancer and his signature popping style.
A theatrical work by Thick and Tight follows, combining dance, theatre and mime in a reflection on social and political current affairs.
Closing the programme is a contemporary ballet by Royal Ballet Principal Character Artist is Kristen McNally.
