The Irish folk rock singer went from recording at home, initially self-releasing his material, and busking around Europe to becoming a household name with millions of sales and hits "Cannonball", "The Blower's Daughter" and "9 Crimes" despite only releasing three studio albums in 20 years, his last in 2014.
