With ten #1 Country hits that span over 10 years, including the 4 million-selling hit single "Wagon Wheel", multi-Platinum smash "Alright" and "Don't Think I Don't Think About It", Hootie & the Blowfish vocalist and Nashville superstar Darius Rucker has been embraced by the country music community since embarking on a solo career.

After he founded Hootie & the Blowfish in 1986 at the University of South Carolina, their 1994 debut album Cracked Rear View became one of the best selling albums of all time, selling over 13 million copies in the United States alone and spawned the Top 10 hits "Only Wanna Be with You", "Let Her Cry" and "Hold My Hand".

In 2009, he became the first black American to win the New Artist Award from the Country Music Association, and only the second black person to win any award from the association.
