Grayscale
Philadelphia quintet Grayscale formed in 2011. Collin Walsh, Dallas Molster, Andrew Kyne, Nick Ventimiglia and Nick Veno met as high school students while playing in local bands together. All four were huge fans of the band Basement, and chose their moniker from the Suffolk rockers' song Grayscale.
Everything clicked for the five-piece, with each member contributing to the songwriting process. By 2013 Grayscale had self-released their first EP, Leaving, and began to establish a loyal fan base through their live shows.
Two years later, they signed with Anchor Eighty Four Records, releasing the EPs Change in 2015 and What We’re Missing in 2016. Grayscale also started sharing stages with acts like The Maine, Real Friends, Neck Deep, State Champs and more.
Having honed a sound ripe with strong hooks, catchy riffs and emotive lyrics, they switched to Fearless Records which released their debut album Adornment in 2017.
With the help of new producer Machine (As It Is, Lamb Of God), Grayscale further explored cathartic storytelling through songs like In Violet and Painkiller Weather, the lead singles from their intensely personal 2019 album Nella Vita. The collection’s last track, Tommy's Song, was written in tribute to frontman Walsh’s cousin, who had died from suicide a year earlier.
In summer 2020, following the release of the EP Live From The Barber Shop Studios, featuring three re-imagined songs from Nella Vita, Grayscale announced their first ever UK headline tour for spring 2021.
