Kae Tempest

Acclaimed non-binary English spoken word performer, poet, rapper, Sunday Times bestselling novelist and playwright Kae Tempest (formerly Kate Tempest) has redefined what it means to be a wordsmith in the Modern Age.

In 2013, they won the Ted Hughes Award for their work Brand New Ancients. They were named a Next Generation Poet by the Poetry Book Society, a once-a-decade accolade, while their second album "Everybody Down" was nominated for the 2015 Mercury Music Prize, a feat matched by the follow up "Let Them Eat Chaos", which charted in the UK Top 30 and saw the accompanying poetry book nominated for the Costa Book of the Year in the Poetry Category in 2016. They were nominated as Best Female Solo Performer at the 2018 Brit Awards, with the 2019 album "The Book of Traps and Lessons" also reaching the UK Top 30.
