Ol' fashioned denim-and-dusty-boots country rock from the quintessential Brat Packer. Kiefer Sutherland will be instantly recognisable to most as the award-winning star of the hit series 24, as well as the star of countless indellible big screen hits such as Flatliners, Young Guns, Stand By Me and The Lost Boys.
It was while starring as the perpetually imperiled Jack Bauer in Fox’s ground-breaking 24 that Sutherland made his first foray into the music business. Alongside friend Jude Cole (formerly of British power pop greats The Records), Sutherland founded the Ironworks label, soon to be home to Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith and US alt-rockers Lifehouse.
Bitten by the music bug, Sutherland followed in the very similar boot tracks of contemporaries Kevin Costner and Jeff Bridges and started making his own wholly American music with the Kiefer Sutherland Band; his dusty, heartland sound with a well-honed set of broken-hearted ballads and countrified rockers scoring two UK Top 20 albums.
