Murkage Dave

Breaking new ground in both British pop and Black British identity, the east-Londoner who emerged through his own vibrant Murkage Cartel while studying in Manchester, explores socio-political, romantic and introspective themes, and observant tales of conflicted times to further affirm his modern-day poet status.

He has collaborated with Mike Skinner, Jaykae, Skepta and Parisian producer Hologram Lo, US “Night Bass” originator AC Slater and french rapper Nekfeu. 

It’s no surprise that his defiantly British sound – a pop blend that’s rooted in a youth spent listening to UK garage and R&B, but also revealing formative years in Manchester absorbing The Smiths and Joy Division – is attracting fans globally.

The Leytonstone born musician has received support and attention from the likes of; Pharrell Williams, Young Fathers, Iggy Pop, Romesh Ranganathan and Beastie Boys member Mike D, all of which have supported his music on their radio shows.
