Wilf and the Vee-Jays?group in 1986. In the early 1990?s,?Van Morrison?recruited Hunter to sing backup on the road touring and on two albums,?A Night in San Francisco?and?Days Like This. In the years to follow,?James Hunter?opened shows for?Aretha Franklin, Etta James,Willie Nelson,?and?Tom Petty. In 2013,?James Hunter?signed to NYC's?Daptone Records?and changed the name of the group to?The James Hunter Six.?The debut Daptone release 'Minute By Minute'?(2013) has been followed by'Hold On!' (2016), 'Whatever It Takes' (2018), 'Nick of Time' (2020) and 'With Love' (2022).
